The Routes

The Super Challenge Route

The most challenging of all our routes - The Super Challenge Route is a 102 mile ride only to be accepted by the most serious cyclists. With over 7,000ft of climb and breathtaking scenery, it's a route not to be missed!

The Challenge Route

This 72 mile route, whilst shorter than the Super Challenge is still not one to be taken lightly. This route cuts east at Innerleithen before heading back to Lasswade, where you'll be welcomed across the finish line with an infamous Findlay's pie.

The Taster Challenge Route

The newest of our routes, this 30 mile option is perfect for those who don't quite fancy the longer alternatives. If you're taking part as a family, trying your first ever Sportive or just fancy a shorter route, this is the one for you.

Our Story

The 2016 Bethany Sportive is a mass participation cycling event in Midlothian and the Scottish Borders, taking place on the 4th June 2016. Now in it's 8th year, this exciting event is growing from strength to strength. Whether you're a serious amateur, looking to try something new or just want to keep fit, there's something for you at the Bethany Sportive. The Bethany Sportive is an event run by the charity Bethany Christian Trust, to raise funds to support their work with homeless and vulnerable people. Every year, Bethany supports over 7,000 homeless and vulnerable people to find, equip and maintain a home within their local community. As well as meeting housing needs, Bethany provide support to individuals and families to help them tackle long-term homelessness problems, including addictions, debt, lack of furniture, unemployment and social isolation. Bethany have been relieving the immediate suffering and meeting the long-term needs of homeless and vulnerable people since 1983. The Bethany Sportive will raise vital funds to help us to continue our work. Every £30 raised provides another homeless person with a warm, safe bed for the night, a hot meal and good advice.
